Anderson Abercrombie was born on 28 August 1786 at Hancock Co., Georgia. He was the son of Maj. Charles Abercrombie and Edwina Malinda Booth. Anderson Abercrombie began military service in 1812 War of 1812, enlisted as private, rose to rank of Adjutant General. He married Sidney Grimes, daughter of John Grimes, on 24 February 1819 at Greene Co., Georgia. Anderson Abercrombie ended military service in 1825 at Georgia; Brigadier General, State Militia. He was one of three commissioners appointed by the Alabama legislature to "fix on a suitable place for the seat of justice." in 1832 at Russell County, Alabama. He immigrated in 1832 to Russell Co., Alabama. He was foreman of the first Grand Jury in the county. on 14 October 1833 at Russell County, Alabama. He died on 21 February 1867 at Russell Co., Alabama, at age 80.
