     Thomas Piety was born in December 1770 at Ft. Pitt, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Austin Piety and Sarah Polk. Thomas Piety married Mary Duncan on 6 August 1792 at Nelson Co., Kentucky. Thomas Piety died on 17 May 1835 at Knox Co., Indiana, at age 64.

     Mary Duncan was born on 25 November 1774. As of 6 August 1792,her married name was Piety. She married Thomas Piety, son of Austin Piety and Sarah Polk, on 6 August 1792 at Nelson Co., Kentucky. Mary Duncan died in 1836 at Knox Co., Indiana.

     Charles was known as "Charles Polk, the Indian Trader." He built a trading house and residence at the North Bend of the Potomac River in Frederick County, Maryland, where he engaged in trade with the Indians in the early years of the eighteenth century. His store was on of the principal establishments of that kind on the frontier.
Being long assoicated with the Indians in the capacity of a trader, he learned to speak their language fluently, as is attested by Capt. Christopher Gist, agent of the Ohio Land Company. In hia journal, kept by him during his trip down the Ohio, commencing Nov. 4, 1751, Gist says:
"Set out 6 a.m. and went to an Indian camp and invited the to the treaty at Logstown at the full of the moon May next. At this camp there was a trader named Charles Polk, who spoke the Indian tongue well. Nemecotton, a chief, complained of the white people occupying lands granted to his father Chicoconnecon, and for which he had no pay. Said he: "This trader here, Charles Polke, knows the truth of what I say, the the land was granted to my father and the he or I never sold it, to which Polke assented."
On another page of Gist's journal is the following: "Charles Polke's name appears in the list of Indian traders in 1734. (Colonial Archives, Vol. 1, p. 125). On Mayo's Map of 1737, his name is marked with those of four other settlers at the North Bend of the Potomac, where Hancock, Maryland now stands. (See also Colonial Records of PA).

Charles Polk was born circa 1700 at Somerset Co., Maryland. He was the son of William Polk and Nancy Knox. Charles Polk married Christiana Cartlidge, daughter of Edmund Cartlidge and Ann Richardson, on 4 August 1734 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Charles Polk died in 1753 at Maryland.

     Christiana Cartlidge was the daughter of Edmund Cartlidge and Ann Richardson. As of 4 August 1734,her married name was Polk. Christiana Cartlidge married Charles Polk, son of William Polk and Nancy Knox, on 4 August 1734 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     William Polk was born in 1738. He was the son of Charles Polk and Christiana Cartlidge.

     Edmond Polk was born in 1740. He was the son of Charles Polk and Christiana Cartlidge.

     Thomas Polk was born in 1742. He was the son of Charles Polk and Christiana Cartlidge.

     Charles Polk was born on 2 February 1743/44. He was the son of Charles Polk and Christiana Cartlidge.

     John Polk was born in 1746. He was the son of Charles Polk and Christiana Cartlidge.

     Edmund Cartlidge married Ann Richardson.

     Her married name was Cartlidge. Ann Richardson married Edmund Cartlidge.

     William Polk married Nancy Knox. William Polk was born circa 1664 at Co. Donegal, Ireland. He was the son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     Her married name was Polk. Nancy Knox married William Polk, son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     Elizabeth Polk was born circa 1695. She was the daughter of William Polk and Nancy Knox.

     William Polk was born circa 1698. He was the son of William Polk and Nancy Knox.

     James Polk was born on 17 May 1719. He was the son of William Polk and Nancy Knox.

     David Polk was born in 1721. He was the son of William Polk and Nancy Knox.

     Jane Polk was born in 1723. She was the daughter of William Polk and Nancy Knox.

     Capt. Robert Polk was born at Ireland. He married Magdalen Tasker at Ireland. Capt. Robert Polk died in 1704 at Somerset Co., Maryland.

     Magdalen Tasker was born at Ireland. Her married name was Polk. She married Capt. Robert Polk at Ireland. Magdalen Tasker died in 1727 at Somerset Co., Maryland.

     John Polk was the son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     Ephraim Polk was the son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     James Polk was the son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     Robert Polk was the son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     David Polk was the son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     Joseph Polk was the son of Capt. Robert Polk and Magdalen Tasker.

     Theodore Theobald married Anne Marie Weiller. Theodore Theobald was born on 23 January 1905 at Joeuf, France. He died circa 1940; conscripted by the Germans for forced labor and presumed dead.

     Her married name was Theobald. Anne Marie Weiller married Theodore Theobald. Anne Marie Weiller was born on 6 February 1905 at Metz, France. She died on 12 March 1963 at Tacoma, Washington, at age 58.
