     James Sidney Burk is the son of Frederick Hamblin Burk and Erma M. MacDonald. James Sidney Burk married Frances Jane Krill, daughter of Louis James Krill and Agnes Fraser, on 31 October 1948 at Oakland, CA.

     Capt. Thomas Anderson Abercrombie was born on 25 July 1836 at Russell Co., Alabama. He was the son of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross. Capt. Thomas Anderson Abercrombie married Mary LeBon Gobert, daughter of Jacques Phillippe Gobert and Eleanor Wright Lawson, on 8 December 1858 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., Georgia. Capt. Thomas Anderson Abercrombie appeared on the census of 14 July 1860 at the Eastern Division, (Eufaula), Barbour Co., Alabama; with wife Mary and son James. Census also shows 12 slaves. He began military service on 7 March 1863 at Captain, Co. H, 6th Regiment, Alabama Cavalry, Clayton, Barbour Co., Alabama, as Company Commander from Barbour County, Alabama. The 6th Alabama Cavalry was organized near Pine Level, early in 1863, as part of Brig. Gen'l James H. Clanton's brigade [Gen. Clanton was Capt. Abercrombie's brother-in-law, married to Parthenia Abercrombie]. Recruits were gathered from Barbour, Coffee, Coosa, Henry, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, and Tallapoosa counties. It was first engaged near Pollard with a column of the enemy that moved out from Pensacola. Ordered then to North Alabama, the 6th was concerned in several skirmishes near Decatur, with small loss. During the Atlanta-Dalton campaign, the regiment served for several weeks as part of Brig. Gen'l Samuel W. Ferguson's and Brig. Gen'l Frank C. Armstrong's brigades, losing quite a number. A portion of the regiment resisted Maj. Gen'l Lovel H. Rousseau at Ten Islands, losing a number killed and captured. Transferred to West Florida, the 6th fought Maj. Gen'l Frederick Steele's column at Bluff Springs, under orders from Col Armstead, and its loss was severe, especially in prisoners. The remnant fought Maj. Gen'l James H. Wilson's column, and laid down their arms at Gainesville, fewer than 200 men.
Field officers: Col. Charles H. Colvin, Lt. Col. Washington T. Lary (captured at Ten Islands); Major Eliphalet Ariel McWhorter (captured at Ten Islands, Bluff Springs); and Adjutant Joseph A. Robertson.

He lived circa 1866 at Pensacola, Escambia Co., Florida. He lived in 1873 at Rayville, Richland Parish, Louisiana; shown in newspaper list of jurors for Nov. 1873, 14th District Court, Richland Parish. He died on 20 September 1873 at near, Rayville, Richland parish, Louisiana, at age 37; of yellow fever (swamp fever) (see attached newspaper clipping)
OBITUARY: 4 OCT 1873:

The Rayville (LA) "Beacon", of the 4th inst. says that Mr. Thomas Abercrombie, who died near that place on the 20th ult. of swamp fever, was a brother-in-law of the late Gen. Jas. H. Clanton, and entered the war as first lieutenant in Co. I, 1st AL Cav. Reg't, which regiment was organized at Montgomery, AL, by Gen. Clanton, in the fall of 1861. Lieut. Abercrombie was afterwards Captain in General Clanton's Brigade. He was a good soldier and made an efficient officer. He died far away from kindred and friends, and many old comrades who will learn with sincere regret that he has passed to "that bourne from whence no traveler returns."

      Mary LeBon Gobert also went by the name of Mollie. She was born on 18 January 1840 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., Georgia. She was the daughter of Jacques Phillippe Gobert and Eleanor Wright Lawson. Mary LeBon Gobert appeared on the census of 1850 at James P. Gobert household, District No. 48, Jefferson County, Georgia. As of 8 December 1858,her married name was Abercrombie. She married Capt. Thomas Anderson Abercrombie, son of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross, on 8 December 1858 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., Georgia. Mary LeBon Gobert appeared on the census of 1860 at Thomas Abercrombie household, Eastern District (Eufaula), Barbour County, Alabama. She appeared on the census of 1880 at J. P. Gobert household, Sparta, Hancock County, Georgia; widowed. She appeared on the census of 1900 at Louis LeBon Abercrombie household, Tulare, CA. She died in 1916 at Tulare, CA. She was buried on 19 January 1916 at Tulare District Cemetery, Tulare, Tulare Co., CA; EAST1, Lot 3, Grave 4E.

     Her married name was Britt. Alice E. Gobert married W. H. Britt. Alice E. Gobert was born in 1858 at Sparta, Georgia. She was the daughter of Jacques Phillippe Gobert and Eleanor Wright Lawson. As of 12 November 1874,her married name was Roberts. Alice E. Gobert married William C. D. Roberts on 12 November 1874 at Louisville, Georgia. Alice E. Gobert died in 1921 at Sparta, Hancock Co., Georgia.

     Francis M. Gobert married Sallie Forbes. Francis M. Gobert was born circa 1853 at Albany, Georgia; Age 67 in 1920 U. S. Census. He was the son of Jacques Phillippe Gobert and Eleanor Wright Lawson. Francis M. Gobert died on 20 November 1921 at Dougherty County, Georgia.

     James Fleming was born on 1 December 1825; First husband - founder of Anderson-Clayton? He married Louisa Henrietta Gobert, daughter of Jacques Phillippe Gobert and Eleanor Wright Lawson, on 18 January 1855 at Jefferson Co., Georgia. James Fleming died on 9 February 1858 at Jefferson County, Georgia, at age 32.

     William S. Lowry was born circa 1817 at Georgia. He married Louisa Henrietta Gobert, daughter of Jacques Phillippe Gobert and Eleanor Wright Lawson, on 28 September 1874 at Jefferson Co., Georgia. William S. Lowry died in 1892 at Due West, Abbeville County, South Carolina.

     Margaret Jessie Fraser was born on 28 November 1867 at Inverness, Inverness Co., Scotland. She was baptized on 9 December 1867 at Parish of Inverness, Inverness Co., Scotland. As of 9 December 1867, Margaret Jessie Fraser was also known as Maggie Fraser. She was the daughter of Donald L. Fraser and Agnes Keir. As of 2 April 1891,her married name was Geiser. Margaret Jessie Fraser married Charles W. Geiser on 2 April 1891. Margaret Jessie Fraser died in March 1958 at age 90.

     Donald Fraser was buried at Tulare District Cemetery, Tulare, CA; City Section, Block 22, Lot 3, Grave 1. He was born in 1872. He was the son of Donald L. Fraser and Agnes Keir.

     Georgia Bur(n)field Fraser was born on 16 November 1877 at Tulare, Tulare Co., CA. She was the daughter of Donald L. Fraser and Agnes Keir. Georgia Bur(n)field Fraser was born on 11 June 1879 at Tulare, Tulare Co., CA. As of circa 1895,her married name was Martin. She married W. D. Martin circa 1895 at California. Georgia Bur(n)field Fraser died on 17 September 1966 at Santa Clara, Santa Clara Co., CA, at age 88.

     Cummings S. Nicewonger was born in 1858 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Hays/Levi Nicewonger. Cummings S. Nicewonger married Agnes Helen Fraser, daughter of Donald L. Fraser and Agnes Keir, on 27 April 1887. Cummings S. Nicewonger died in 1934. He was buried on 20 September 1934 at Tulare District Cemetery, Tulare, CA; NE Section, Block 1, Grave 239.

     W. H. Britt married Alice E. Gobert, daughter of Jacques Phillippe Gobert and Eleanor Wright Lawson.

     John Roberts was the son of William C. D. Roberts and Alice E. Gobert.

     Hon. James Charles Abercrombie was described as "a distinguished citizen of this county [Russell County, AL], was born in Hancock county, Georgia, in 1795. His father was a planter with considerable means, and gave his son a good education. About the year 1812 the son came to the wilds of Alabama, and first settled in Monroe (now Dallas) county, but shortly after became a resident of Montgomery. That county he represented in the lower house of the legislature in 1820, '22, '24, and from 1825 to 1834 in the senate. In the latter year he came to Russell [County, AL], and in 1838-'40 represented the county in the legislature. In 1844 he headed the Clay electoral ticket. From 1847 to '51 he was in the upper house, and in the latter year was elected to congress over Hon. John Cochran of Barbour. He was re-elected two years later, defeating Mr. David Clopton of Macon. This closed his long public service. He removed to Florida in 1859, and died near Pensacola, July 2, 1861. He was buried in Columbus, Georgia. His wife was a sister of Mr. Isaac N. Ross of Tallapoosa, and the late Hon. James J. Abercrombie of Florida was his son. Col. R. H. Abercrombie of Macon, Dr. Charles Abercrombie, who represented Macon in 1853, and Col. Anderson Abercrombie of Texas, are nephews.
Capt. Abercrombie "was a man of massive proportions, both in body and mind. He was one of that class of men who engage in all business with intention to succeed. They never stop to count cost, but set in to go through, cost what it may. These inherent qualities of mind we deem indispensable to all greatness. The right use of such mental condition may be, and often is, abused, especially in hard political races; but this is an abuse. Capt. A. had a large endowment of this capital. He used it successfully in his business life. He made a great deal of money, paid out a fortune for his friends, squandered thousands for party, gave with princely munificence to the church, and to the poor.”* He was one of the most remarkable men the State has produced, and was a tower of strength to whatever cause he belonged, and wielded an immense influence by his personal popularity and wondrous energy." He was born on 18 February 1792 at Hancock Co., Georgia. He was the son of Maj. Charles Abercrombie and Edwina Malinda Booth. Hon. James Charles Abercrombie began military service in 1812 at Georgia as a Corporal, Major Freeman's Squadron of Georgia Cavalry. He lived in 1815 at Montgomery, Alabama. He married Evelina Elizabeth Ross, daughter of Isaac Ross and Parthenia Browne, on 27 July 1816 at Old Augusta, Montgomery, Alabama. Hon. James Charles Abercrombie was State Representative from 1820 to 1822 at Montgomery Co., Alabama. He was State Representative from 1824 to 1825 at Montgomery Co. He ended military service in 1825 at Alabama; Captain, Alabama Militia Cavalry. He was Alabama State Senator from 1825 to 1833 at Montgomery Co., Alabama. He lived in 1835 at Russell Co., Alabama; Coweta Rd., three miles from Columbus, GA. Purchased land near his brothers, Anderson and Charlie. He was State Representative from 1838 to 1839 at Russell Co. He was Alabama State Senator from 1847 to 1850 at Russell Co., Alabama. He was U. S. Congressman from 2nd District of Alabama from 1851 to 1853. He lived in 1859 at Escambia Co., Florida; where he purchased a plantation on the Escambia River, and lived there until his death in 1861. He died on 2 July 1861 at Pensacola, Escambia Co., Florida, at age 69. He was buried on 2 July 1861 at Linwood Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee Co., Georgia.

     Her married name was Abercrombie. Evelina Elizabeth Ross was born on 22 June 1800 at South Carolina. She was the daughter of Isaac Ross and Parthenia Browne. Evelina Elizabeth Ross married Hon. James Charles Abercrombie, son of Maj. Charles Abercrombie and Edwina Malinda Booth, on 27 July 1816 at Old Augusta, Montgomery, Alabama. Evelina Elizabeth Ross died in 1858 at at the family residence, Russell County, Alabama.

     Clara W. Abercrombie was born on 20 May 1839 at Russell Co., Alabama. She was the daughter of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross. As of 18 December 1861,her married name was Cooke. Clara W. Abercrombie married William Capon Cooke on 18 December 1861 at Columbus, Georgia.

     William Capon Cooke was born on 14 April 1840 at Savannah, Georgia. He married Clara W. Abercrombie, daughter of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross, on 18 December 1861 at Columbus, Georgia.

     Her married name was Hickey. Marie Stoddard Cooke was born on 22 December 1872 at Pensacola, Florida. She was the daughter of William Capon Cooke and Clara W. Abercrombie. Marie Stoddard Cooke married James Jamieson Hickey, son of Charles H. Hickey, circa 1897. Marie Stoddard Cooke appeared on the census of 1900 at household of James J. Hickey, Danville, Virginia. She appeared on the census of 1920 at household of James J. Hickey, Richmond, Virginia. She lived on 26 March 1921 at Richmond, Virginia. She appeared on the census of 1930 at household of J. J. Hickey, Richmond, Richmond Co., Virginia.

     James J. Abercrombie was born on 20 November 1819 at Pensacola, Escambia Co., Florida. He was the son of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross. James J. Abercrombie married Sarah Abercrombie, daughter of Anderson Abercrombie and Sidney Grimes, on 27 March 1840 at Columbus, Muscogee Co., Georgia. James J. Abercrombie died on 3 January 1871 at Pensacola, Escambia Co., Florida, at age 51.

     Sarah Abercrombie was born in 1820 at Georgia; Wft Est. 1803-1827. She was the daughter of Anderson Abercrombie and Sidney Grimes. Sarah Abercrombie married James J. Abercrombie, son of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross, on 27 March 1840 at Columbus, Muscogee Co., Georgia.

     Anderson Abercrombie was born in 1818. He was the son of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross.

     Evelina Elizabeth Abercrombie was born on 15 January 1822. She was the daughter of Hon. James Charles Abercrombie and Evelina Elizabeth Ross. As of 2 September 1841,her married name was Wright. Evelina Elizabeth Abercrombie married William Carney Wright on 2 September 1841 at Russell Co., Alabama.
